Spares/Servicing

Laser engines from 1992

Laser engines are fully guaranteed for a period of one year from receipt of engine against faulty materials or workmanship in accordance with consumer legislation. The guarantee is void if standard maintenance is not carried out as set out in the operating instructions The guarantee does not cover standard wear and tear, damage caused by misuse, impact, lack of lubrication or overheating which are not within the control of the manufacturers. Engines must be returned post paid. There is no limit on the amount of hours the engine is run during this period. Following the guarantee period there will be a minimum service charge including return postage for the examination of and test of an engine.

ALWAYS PHONE BEFORE RETURNING AN ENGINE
To avoid customs charges, when returning an engine from outside the EU please ensure the customs form states the engine is a faulty item being returned to the original manufacturer for repair.

Many problems can be solved with a simple phone call saving time and expense. When returning your engine please ensure that the engine is carefully packed and the carburettor is removed from the engine to prevent damage to the main needle.

SERVICE and REPAIRS

Laser engines are built to the highest standards possible and with standard maintenance will run for many hours without deterioration of performance. With any engine parts may deteriorate with age especially if the engine is not used unless the engine is completely cleaned and inhibited. An engine used regularly will run many more hours than one that is occasionally used. It is not possible to guarantee the performance of an engine following service as this will depend on existing parts, including the carburettor, which are not replaced. The engine cannot be expected to give the performance of a new engine. If the engine is considered to be in poor condition and unsuitable for service you will be advised and the engine will either be returned at your cost or disposed of after a period of 1 month.

Returned engines must be clean and returned with their exhaust and carburettor to allow test running. Any additions to the engine such as custom prop nuts or ball linkages on throttle arms must be removed as they are not required for our testing and may be lost. Crash damaged engines must be thoroughly cleaned to remove mud/debris from the engine including in between the cooling fins. Failure to do so will incur additional charges.

STANDARD SERVICE Engines manufactured from 1992
Due to the varied condition of engines returned for repair we are unable to offer a fixed price service. Instead engines engines will be stripped and inspected before being individually quoted for repair. The inspection will be covered by our standard £35 inspection fee and additional work will then be quoted by phone. If an engine is deemed too costly to repair by its owner the £35 inspection fee (plus post if the engine is returned) will still apply.
