20/11/02 Update from the ATS Team regarding their training facilities.
Nothing stands still and certainly ATS doesn’t. Since John Kent wrote his article about his visit to ATS back in July 2002, ATS has taken another big step forward: the old Dunnings Farm site near Andover in Hampshire, which was used last year for the fixed wing training school, has finally been relinquished.
A tremendous new site has been acquired for fixed wing training next to the existing helicopter training area at Draycott Farm Aerodrome. The whole of ‘Hangar One’ on the aerodrome has also been taken over almost doubling the space available. So now all of ATS’ growing activities in both the model flight training sphere and in aerial photography are concentrated on one site - to the benefit of staff and customers alike.
All contact with ATS should therefore now be directed to the Draycott address :-

24/11/02 We are pleased to announce that we have added a brand new feature to the site. You can add your own comments to the end of the articles on Bumpy Green. Let us know what YOU think of the article or add to the article by expressing your own views and opinions. If its an educational article why not enter your own experiences on this subject. If its a review and you own this model tell us all about your model, whether you agree with the building or flying or just add general comments that you think will help others. Whichever it is get interactive and have your say......
This feature is available on selected material but we are slowly adding it to all pages.
16/11/02 We have had a plea from a fellow
modeller which goes a little like this. "I live in Torbay Devon
and enjoy C/L STUNT. I'm the only one doing it in this area. I have a field
and I'm trying to find others who would like to fly control line. Regards Adrian."
If you are interested you can contact Adrian at [email protected]
04/08/02 Andreas Luthi
from Switzerland retained his title at theWorld FAI Scale Championships held
in Canada. His new model, a Bucker Jungmeister 'Antares' was a new light weight
version of the model he won the Large Scale Championships in Switzerland in
2002.
02/08/02 The site has now moved to Telehouse
which means Bumpy Green Model Aerodrome is located in the fastest place in the
UK, which has got to be good for our visitors. A brand new feature has been
added in the form of a gallery management system which, we hope, will not only
contain the largest collection of pictures for a UK site but also allows our
visitors to upload their own pictures to it. So dig out your RC pictures and
get uploading. Please give us feedback on both the new site and the gallery,
including any problems you find.

01/08/02 Watch out for a brand new Radio Control TV series due to hit our screens early next year, in which teams of 3 people battle it out with car, boat and helicopter, each of which is used to complete a complicated course. Set on a custom designed set in a beautiful location this show is something really special to look forward to. Bumpy Green entered a team for this competition and watch as we take you behind the scenes as the series is shown. We will ofcourse keep you fully updated on when this can be seen on the Discovery channel.
04/07/02 The CAMBRIAN MODEL COMPANY is proud to announce that it will reopen its doors for business on 20 July 2002 at Eastnor Castle. With Jonathan and Wendy McCaughan at the helm Cambrian will continue to manufacture scale model kits to the highest standards.
Jonathan comments "Cambrian are well known for their QUALITY and range of GOOD VALUE aircraft kits. We will maintain this and in addition plans are in place for many new models to complement the existing exciting range. We will stock spares for all Cambrian kits".
We are very excited about the new line up and would welcome
your comments/requests for new kits in the future. Contact us at [email protected]
and see us at selected shows.
08/02/02 Graham Ashby, editor of RCM&E told Bumpy Green this month that an exciting new magazine will be appearing on our shelves this year. 'Rotor Sport' is the name and will be dedicated to all you RC Helicopter pilots out there. Two issues will appearing this year in June and December and then bimonthly for the year 2003 onwards. With 100 full colour pages and covering many aspects of radio controlled model helicopters this magazine will surely be an excellent companion to the already superb RCM&E magazine.
Thankyou for visiting Bumpy Green Model Aerodrome
